The best thing is that it doesn’t even seem doctored ... feel free to look at the
!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
. The Boston Globe was nice enough to write about it:
Since then, it’s been curious to see other iterations of the search pop up, i.e. inquiries about Canada in general, and searches into the specifics of moving there. Don’t believe it?
Oh man ... /popcorn

one way to rectify that , build a wall!

haha, I think chances for him to get elected are small... But as a “foreigner”, that would be great entertainment to watch this from afar.
I also have this quite nihilistic approach on the subject. Give them the country for 4 years and accept EVERYTHING they want to put in place, then look at the mess the country would suddenly be. Sure people would die, the country would be on the ban of the international community, but it would be the very last time you would hear of a “republican” ever again lol

An American wall or a Canadian wall?
Who will be the wildlings? :o

Canadian wall.

That is actually one of my bug out plans should stuff really go sideways. Already got a cardboard sign ready to go.
Mechanical Engineer: will work for asylum

You underestimate the sheer stupidity of hard core right-wing nut jobs... They’ll find a way to shift blame.

Nah, that’s what would happen if the country goes to minor shit... If it goes to crazy shit, insanely bad, they won’t do it... And hey, they can still elect him 4 more years for the sake of it lol. And a guy exactly like him after if they still don’t get it.
The US is at something like over 70 consecutive months of private sector job growth and has a GDP growth that most countries in the world would love to have... This is certainly not due to people that are NOT in power.
So let Trump become president. Let him be and most of all, let him do whatever the fuck he want. 4 years in row. If after 4 years, he blames it on Obama for “ruining the country”, fine, elect him again then! After a while, even Fox will be fighting the GOP lol
Or just wait for Marty to save our ass...

Not a bit but after learning Spanish and a bit of Russian I am willing to give a 4th language a try.

That’s both laudable and impressive.
Also, if you’ve conquered Spanish, you’ve basically learned every latin-based language to some degree, too.
Russian, man ... that shit is hard. All that stuck with me is counting to potato, hello/goodbye/thanks lines and some insults I might not even want to try ... since I don’t have precise knowledge about what they mean.

The trick was taking a course that used gratuitous amounts of power points that had examples that all used Vladimir Putin. They made each lesson very memorable.

Come as they will. They just have to kiss a moose on the way in (and we won’t have one waiting at the front door). That’s the initiation.

Putin memes are my kryptonite. I never thought of working the Mechanical Engineer angle for asylum. I will have to make note of that for the future.

The way I look at it, quite a few of the engineers working in this country came from somewhere else and there are always more engineering jobs than people to fill them. If a country is going to let someone in it is going to be a person who is most likely educated/productive. I think anyone with a profession in a STEM field has a decent chance or at least better than average.

I find it interesting that the most searches for the term actually came from Canada.
![]() 03/02/2016 at 08:19 |

That might be due to reporting in the media ... or maybe it’s Canadians being worried about U.S. citizens coming over.
“Eh, I’ll just go to Canada if Trump gets elected.” - U.S. citizen
“Aww hell naw, they’ll come here if Trump gets elected!” - Canadians

I already sleep over at my girlfriend’s in Windsor a lot. Hell my commute to work would only be like 10 minutes longer, and think of the place I could afford!
Canada is seeming better and better.

Not going to lie...I've done a couple Google searches on that. Usually after seeing or hearing Trump speak.

Google Trends search numbers are normalized, relative figures, which are for comparing two or more terms. When you only search one term, the trend line numbers are only relative to itself. Look at what happens when you compare move to Canada with iPhone.

It’s remarkable that America hasn’t turned into some single-party oligarchy given that half the country threatens to move elsewhere every four years.

Damn, we’d better build a wall to keep out the southern neighbours.

Hmmmm ... I’m not really in a position to ponders that thought, as it would be like moving to Denmark for me, but you make it seem awfully sensible.

Everything consume-related usually dwarfs political keywords ... that said, I can’t not agree with you.
It simply seemed comical to me that people would actually consider leaving the country due to some dick being elected.

Probably just make them build a wall and pay for it. Because that’s logical and all.

I liked it when people threatened to move because of Obamacare, seemingly oblivious to the fact that we have a much more socialist system in place.
